Small was established in December 2007 with the aim of making a modest contribution to the fight against childhood cancer, driven by our personal experience with our son, Pablo.
When confronted with a severe health issue, we placed our trust in the exceptional quality of the leading public hospitals, which possess state-of-the-art infrastructure and renowned doctors with international acclaim.
However, even with this understanding, our firsthand encounter with our son's illness revealed numerous small ways in which we could enhance the resources available to hospitals. Naturally, these institutions must prioritize their investments and are unable to address every desirable detail, some of which hold significant importance for the patients. In today's economic climate, this task is even more challenging.

It is the leading cause of disease-related mortality in children over 1 year of age.
Survival rate exceeds 79%, and although mortality from childhood tumors is decreasing, there is still a proportion of patients who do not respond to conventional treatments.
In Spain, the incidence of childhood cancer is 142 new cases per million children aged 0 to 15 years, resulting in over 900 new cases each year.
In Catalonia, we have approximately 200 new cases per year, and currently around 500 children are receiving treatment.
